Support to Katju’s demand to reinstate Aijaz fellowship at DRDO

New Delhi. More than one and half dozen journalists, social workers, human right activists have welcomed Justice Katju’s bold initiative seeking to reinstate Aijaz Ahmed Mirza’s fellowship contract at DRDO.
Arrested in August 2012, on charges that he was involved in a terrorist conspiracy, Mirza has been released after the NIA has excluded him from the charge sheet. But in these six months of his arrest and incarceration, he was not only vilified as a ‘mastermind’ but his Junior Research Fellowship was also terminated by the DRDO.

History became a weapon, sometimes double-edged

http://hastakshep.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/03/Sajhi-Virasat-Sajha-sankalp-book-by-Ram-Puniuani.jpgThe division of Indian History into Hindu Period, Muslim Period and British Period ( not … Christian Period ! ) or as that of Ancient Period, Mediaeval Period and Modern Period has been attracting prolonged debates since along. The terminology of such nomenclature not only gives a feel of discontinuity in Indian History but also sounds as if it has been a history of alien people or civilizations descended from asteroids.

HUMAN CHAIN FOR UNITY AND HARMONY: INDIA GATE 26 AUGUST 5:30 PM

Press Release of Mission Bhartiyam
Respected friends,
We were all sitting in our homes relaxed when a part of India was burning but then the flames also started spreading in other parts of India. We are talking about the tragic situation in Assam which ultimately send heat waves across India by forcing the North eastern people to flee back to their native places. The Assam riots had began as a clash between the natives and the settlers and then a  debate between natives and illegal immigrants from Bangladesh in North East and ultimately, got a communal flavor. There were rumours across the country threatening to attack north eastern people and forcing them to go back to their native places.

We, as citizens of this country and as human beings, condemn this. We condemn the shock, the pain, the terror that the North Eastern people have to face. We also condemn these riots and violence in all forms.
We empathise with the people of North East and to show our solidarity and extend our support to them, we will form a human chain on India Gate on this sunday i.e. 26th August
We request you to join us.
Place: India Gate
